Rob Probert CEO of the Canadian Career Academy of Business & Technology
As CEO of the Canadian Career Academy of Business & Technology, Robert brings a wealth of experience in providing a range of employment initiatives to the Ottawa Valley. He has worked extensively since 1986 with HRDC in providing a wide variety of services including the Carleton Place Job Finding Club (since 1992), the Arnprior Job Finding Club (since 1998) and the Carleton Place Employment Resource Centre (since 1993). The CCA has also produced a series of locally oriented Job/Career Fairs for the last several years. Rob has extensive knowledge of corporate needs having served as President of the Carleton Place Chamber of Commerce for 11 years, and Chairman of the Carleton Place BIA for 4 years.

Kirk White President of Canada Career Services

Kirk has attended Algonquin College Business Administration programs. He has a wealth of practical knowledge of owning and running several businesses. He served as the Treasurer of the Chamber of Commerce for 5 years and served as the President for one term. Currently, Kirk runs the Canadian Career Caregiver Services. He, along with his highly trained staff, travels to Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea to interview and recruit only the top, qualified nannies to place with families accross Canada.

Abby White Director of Global Operations

Abby has a B.S. in Psychology. Her expertise is with Human Resources. She has worked in the HR Department for Coca-Cola International and S.M. China. Abby is currently the Director of Global Operations for Canadian Career Caregiver Services. She is incharge of evaluations and screening of all overseas applicants and has an extensive knowledge of the CIC Live-in Caregiver Program.

Violeta Bartolome
Violeta is a graduate of BSc major in Accountancy. She's originally from the Philippines. Considered to be intellectual, well-motivated, hardworking and loves to work with different kind of people. She has a wide experience in child care, elderly and disabled care. She worked in Hongkong as a caregiver for 8 years and 3 years in Canada. Back in the Philippines, she worked in different accounting firms. She is currently the Recruiting Officer of Canadian Career Caregiver Services.

Aimée Chalhoub

Aimée has many years of experience in the employment sector. Her diverse background includes teaching, counselling and facilitation in both official languages. Aimée has an excellent knowledge of community resources, labour market information, and educational services. She has a proven ability in assessing clients’ employment and career needs and helping them develop a return to work action plan to achieve their goals. Aimée is also high skilled in the areas of administration and office management. She has been working closely with the COPE and Canadian Career Academy teams since February, 2006, to help unemployed clients in their career decision making.

Kim Field
Kim is the Lead Facilitator in the Smiths Falls office. She brings extensive experience in the areas of group facilitation and providing one on one support to individuals who are job seeking.

She is able to help with resume preparation assistance, cover letters, and job search strategies.

Name: Paul Heuther
Paul has been heading up the COPE Workshop since it’s inception, as Unit Coordinator and Lead Facilitator, working closely with the rest of the COPE and CCA teams. Paul has also attained his GATB Certification. He is responsible for technical training (including WHMIS, ESD, Fibre Optics) and assistance for clients facing Workplace Audit, ISO and Health & Safety issues. Paul spent many years in the heavy equipment industry, and has made the transition into the employment support and technical training areas, working alongside the Employment and Job Search Resource Centres, and Job Finding Clubs.

Name: Amy Knapp
Amy is the Career Group Facilitator for the Job Search Resource Centre in Smiths Falls, operated by the Canadian Career Academy. She has a thorough understanding of the employment field and the current job search techniques that are so valuable in the world of work. Amy has 5 years’ experience in the employment field and is a Certified Experienced Career Practitioner. She thoroughly enjoys assisting job seekers in discovering their potential and supporting them in their quest for employment.

Employment Counsellor

Shelley joined the Canadian Career Academy in 2004 bringing over 18 years of professional human resources, resume and career development experience. She has worked in many different sectors including Hospitality, Tourism, Consulting and Education. She is an open and approachable person who loves to listen and work with clients to overcome barriers/challenges and attain success. Shelley has extensive experience with resume writing, facilitating customer service and employment workshops, as well as being known for her problem solving abilities and thinking outside the box. Her educational background in Business Management and Human Resources brings a dynamic and real world approach to career counselling. She is passionate about helping clients find what they are meant to be to doing in order to achieve work/life balance. With her knowledge and ability to communicate, she is a valuable partner in your career decision-making and job search.

Lynn Riverin

Lynn Riverin joined Canadian Career Academy in February, 2006 as an Administrative Assistant. She brings with her more than 20 years of experience in the Administration field. She has diverse experience and knowledge in the Employment Services, Real Estate, Law Office and University environment. She enjoys working with people and likes to share her skills in the Information Technology that she acquired during her previous employment. She is fluently in both official languages.


Name: Rachel Smith
Rachel is the first point of contact at the Job Search Resource Centre in Smiths Falls. She has a diverse background in customer service and administration. Her commitment to excellent customer service ensures every client a warm welcome and friendly, dedicated job search assistance. Living locally gives her a fundamental understanding of the needs of local residents and the local labour market.

Name: Lisa Warren
Lisa joined the Canadian Career Academy in February 2006 as Administrative Assistant. She brings with her 16 years of Customer Service and Office Administration experience. Her positive attitude and understanding gives her the ability to effectively assist individuals with job search assistance, resume preparation and cover letters. She is the first point of contact at the Employment Resource Centre greeting clients with a warm and welcoming smile.

Name: Laura White
Laura has been with the Canadian Career Academy of Business and Technology since 1995. She has held various roles – starting as an Office Assistant to Rob Probert, President and Registrar; then assisting both the Employment Resource Centre and Job Finding Club Program while working herself into a leadership role and heading up the program for over 5 years.

Laura has a sound knowledge of job searching and a genuine interest in each individuals’ well-being. Her understanding of how to market yourself in today’s tough employment market, coupled with her keen attitude all contribute to her facilitating approach and gives clients that cutting edge that they may have lost. She is energetic and has the ability to motivate and adapt to each clients needs. Laura delivers a dynamic and pro-active job search, and statistics have proven that client who have followed a step-by-step approach obtain employment sooner and in their field.

Laura’s expertise lies in the areas of building resumes with impact, creating eye-catching cover letters, the importance of networking and understanding how to present one-self in an interview.

Mary joins the Canadian Career Academy and COPE team as a facilitator with a wide range of expertise in career planning, employment counseling, adult education and ESL instruction. Fully qualified in vocational testing, she is able to administer and interpret a variety of career assessment tools including the MBTI, Strong and GATB. She has held key management positions in the areas of unemployment, counseling and training in both the private and public sector including Algonquin College, Tecsult Eduplus Inc. and Northern Lights Vocational Services. Mary is formally trained as a nurse and teacher, and holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling from the University of Ottawa.
