Canadian Career Caregiver Services have provided both our Employers, and our Caregivers with answers to questions which we are frequently asked about. How long does it take to hire a caregiver?

It usually takes 4 to 6 months to get a caregiver overseas depending on the country they arer coming from.

Where do your caregivers come from?

Our applicants come from Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Dubai (Arab Emirates) and Singapore.

Do you handle all the paperwork needed to hire a caregiver?

Yes. We fill out all government forms such as your application for letter of validation to HRSDC.

Do you provide replacements for the caregiver in case either both parties are not satisfied or if problems arise that can no longer be settled?

We do have a one free replacement policy.

How much does it cost to register with Canadian Career Caregiver Services?

It is FREE for our Employers to register with our agency.

What is the live-in caregiver program?

The live-in caregiver program allows professional caregivers to work in Canada. Caregivers are individuals who are qualified to work without supervision in a private household providing care for children, elderly persons or people who have disabilities. The live-in caregiver must live in the employer's house.

Are live-in caregivers allowed to do housekeeping?

Yes, but it is clearly stated under the program that the main duty of a live-in caregiver is to look after the needs of their clients and light housekeeping may be a part of that care.

Caregivers Frequently asked questions


How long does it take to find an employer?

There is no definite length of time in finding an employer. There are always available employers looking for a caregiver but our goal is to match their needs and your ability to perform the job.

Once I have an employer, how long does it take to get a work permit?

It usually takes 4 to 6 months to get a work permit.

What salary can I expect?

We based your salary on market rates at the time of your application.

Do you provide assistance if a problem arises at my workplace?

We always try our best effort to settle problems between employer and employee.

What are my main responsibilities/duties as a caregiver?

For child care, some of the caregiver's responsibilities may include playing, reading, feeding, bathing, dressing, child supervision and some light housekeeping.

For elderly, duties may involve personal hygiene care, companionship, supervising medication, laundry and other light household chores.
