When you choose a nanny for your family, it's important to find the precise fit for you and the nanny or caregiver, who will become a part of your everyday life. Considering this need, there are certain conditions that are required: 

  • The nanny or caregiver must live with you, the employer, in your home
  • They must be provided with a private, furnished room within your home
  • Their employment must be full-time

Canada Pension Plan (CPP)
The employer's contribution is an amount equal to the total of the employee's contribution.

Employment Insurance (EI)
As an employer, your contribution is 1.4 times the amount of the employee's premiums for the pay period, unless a reduced rate applies.
